Tabriz

Tabriz is Iran's second oldest city, and was the earliest capital of the Safavid dynasty. The city has been the foremost Persian rug production town since the 15th Century and the center of the world's weaving community since the 1800's. Tabriz rug weavers are among the most skilled producers of quality rugs with the highest technical standards and the most varied repertoire. It is also worth mentioning that Tabriz rugs are the most traded rugs in the world.
